Hiking and sports trails

Difficulties and security

Most tourrs do not present any major difficulties, but in the mountains conditions can change rapidly. To fully enjoy your walks, follow these basic guidelines of the Swiss council for Accident Prevention (bfu):

Security on walks and hikes

When describing the different walks/hikes, we indicate their difficulty according to Swiss Alpine Club’s new scale (degrees of difficulty) :

cotation_cas_des_randonn_es_11.pdf

calibrated from T1 to T6. It can be downloaded from the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) website.

The given walking times are very subjective. The average speeds are generally 4.2 km/hour on flat terrain, about 300 meters/hour uphill and 600 meters/hour downhill. These values also vary according to the people, terrain difficulties and weather conditions.
