Tour of the Derborence valley

Degree of difficulty : T2

Touring the valley means discovering Derborence by wandering through its wilderness and magnificent landscapes. It is also walking across the famous Diablerets landslide, an 18th century catastrophe. It is now an extraordinary garden, where life is slowly reasserting itself and is a fantastic playground for botanists, geologists, naturalists and scenery lovers. This place, full of legends, inspired the writer from the canton Vaud, C.-F. Ramuz, whose novel “Derborence” is one of his major works.

The tour of the Derborence valley is an easy and enjoyable walk that can be divided into several stages and has many possible entry and exit points. It can therefore be adapted to ones needs and desires. Crossing the Lizerne is often difficult in the spring due to the melting of the snow; another option: Montbas - Godey -La Lui.

*Post Bus. Also stops at Godey to enter or leave Montbas and La Lui.
